Orca’s vehicle safety separators are an innovative modular traffic management solution manufactured in Australia, using up to 80% recycled glass content. The Island 800 range is suited for precise vehicle separation on roadways to clearly delineate dedicated bicycle corridors and prevent car dooring collisions.
Manufactured using patented polymer concrete technology, the Island 800 range is engineered for performance. The modular components are designed for rapid deployment, to reconfigure existing roadways quickly and with minimal traffic disruption. Durable and low maintenance, this range delivers the structural integrity to perform under the most punishing conditions.
Orca’s Island 800 range delivers up to three times the compressive strength of concrete, providing the structural integrity for permanent fixings with the flexibility of a modular solution that can be relocated and re-used as roadway requirements change.
Orca vehicle safety separators offer precise traffic delineation. Featuring six modular components, designed to create 800mm wide islands that are 150mm high. Islands can be constructed at a minimum length of 1.5 metres or expanded, using multiples of the 500mm long modular island sections.
The elevated profile defines traffic spaces and prevents motorists from entering the bike lanes or dooring cyclists, to improve safety. They are ideal for use on streets where higher traffic volumes and speeds warrant greater separation of vehicles and cyclists. The Island 800 range can be used in conjunction with the Island 300 bike lane separators and offers the flexibility to suit a wide range of roadway requirements.
